Palmu Scores Twice As Attack Double Kitchener 4-2

Petrus Palmu scored for twice for the Attack including the game winner on a breakaway with just under 4 minutes to play.

On the game winning goal, Palmu poked the puck loose at the Attack blueline and raced up ice before beating Luke Opilka with an in-tight shift.

Ethan Szypula also scored a breakaway goal for the Attack while Josh Sterk sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 17 seconds to play

With the win, the Attack extend their point streak to 4 games ( 3-0-1 & 0 ) and move to 60 points on the season

Connor Bunnaman opened the scoring for the Rangers at the 12 minute mark on a loose puck rebound while Ryan MacInnis had the other goal on a power play. MacInnis has 4 goals against the Attack this year and 9 in his career versus Owen Sound.

The Rangers took a 2-1 lead to the 3rd period and lost for just the 2nd time in regulation when they've led after 2 periods ( 30-2-2 & 0 ).

For the Attack, the come-from-behind win is the 4th time they've erased a 3rd period deficit to win and the second time in 5 days. It also marks the 2nd time this year that the Attack have come from behind to beat Kitchener.

The loss for Kitchener was their second straight and leaves them 4th in the Western Conference with 79 points

Daniel Dekoning got the win for the Attack who beat Kitchener in regulation time for the first time this season. Dekoning made 24 saves.

Luke Opilka took the loss for the Rangers who have a mark of 4-1-1 & 0 in the 6 games between the two Midwest Division rivals.

The teams will meet again March 11th at Kitchener and then close out the regular season with a head to head meeting at the JD McArthur Arena March 19th

Friday, the Attack open a home and home with the Guelph Storm. The opener goes Friday night ( 7 pm for Kia of Owen Sound-Terry's Trailer Service Bearadio on CFOS ) with the rematch Saturday night in Owen Sound.

The Rangers will host Oshawa Friday night in Kitchener.
