Attack Rally to beat Flint

Flint, MI | by Fred Wallace

Suzuki scores twice including game winner in 5-4 comeback win over Flint.

The Owen Sound Attack have now won two OHL games in a row.

Nick Suzuki scored two goals -- including the game winner for the second straight night -- and the Attack beat the Flint Firebirds 5-4 in the OHL on Saturday night.

Both of Suzuki's goals came in the third period -- and the game winner came on the power play with less than four minutes remaining in the game.

The underage forward -- who finished the night with three points -- now has 17 goals on the season, fourth all time in the list of Owen Sound underage goal scorers.

Suzuki also scored the game winner in overtime in Owen Sound's 2-1 win in Sault Ste Marie.

The Attack remain tied with the Greyhounds for 6th place in the OHL Western Conference after the Soo beat Sudbury 3-2 on Saturday.

Bryson Cianfrone, Jonah Gadjovich and Jacob Busch also scored for Owen Sound in Saturday's 5-4 win in Michigan.

Daniel DeKoning made 33 saves to record the win for Owen Sound (24-19-9).

Will Bitten, Ryan Moore, Connor Sills and Cullen Mercer found the back of the net for Flint (16-30-6), in their first ever Flint Tropics night.

Kyle Keyser made 30 saves in the Flint goal for the loss.

Owen Sound is now "5-and-1" in their last six road games, and they sweep all four games in the season series with Flint.

In fact, the Attack have won 11 of their last 12 meetings with the Flint franchise in the last three seasons -- their only loss coming in a shootout.

Owen Sound is back in action in the OHL on Family Day Monday when they visit the Oshawa Generals at 2 PM.
