Knights Dominate Attack

London | by Fred Wallace

London wins 5-0 to snap Owen Sound's two game OHL win streak.

The two game win streak for the Owen Sound Attack is over.

Christian Dvorak had two goals and four points to lead the London Knights to a 5-0 win over the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL on Friday night.

Mitchell Marner, a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, also had a goal and three assists to extend his point streak to 10 games.

The line of Marner, Dvorak and Matthew Tkachuk combined for 10 points on Friday.

Brendan Burke stopped 26 shots for his first OHL shutout as the Knights (35-11-3) snapped a three game losing skid.

Michael McNiven turned away 24 shots for the Attack (21-18-9).

It's the fourth time Owen Sound has been shutout this season, and all four shutouts occurred on the road.

London wins the season series 4-2.

In fact, Owen Sound has not won a season series against the Knights since 2001.

Owen Sound now sits in seventh place in the Western Conference, one point behind Sault Ste Marie, after the Greyhounds beat Mississauga 5-3 on Friday.

The Owen Sound Attack are back in action on Saturday night as they host the Guelph Storm in the first ever "Heartbeats and Hockey Sticks" game.

The game is a fundraiser for the cardiac rehab program at the Owen Sound hospital, and it will include a silent auction and a jersey auction.

Game time is 7:30 PM on Saturday at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
