Rare WOAA Game in Lion's Head

Lion's Head | by Fred Wallace

Shallow Lake and Durham face-off in WOAA game in Lion's Head.

For the first time in decades, Senior Hockey is being staged in Lion's Head this afternoon.

The Shallow Lake Crushers will host their WOAA " home game " today at Lion's Head when they host the Durham Thundercats.

Crushers General Manager Rick LeQuyere relates the concept has been proposed previously before becoming a reality this season.

LeQuyere states today's game between the Crushers and Thundercats is significant on a number of levels.

First, the lineups for both Shallow Lake and Durham have connections to the community of Lion's Head.

Second, the game has been well supported by sponsors based in Lion's Head who have expressed an ongoing interest in promoting the game.

And finally, LeQuyere says the neutral site game is a terrific way to expand both the image of the WOAA Senior Hockey League and the Crushers organization along the Bruce Peninsula.

Game time Sunday for the Crushers and Thundercats is 4:30 PM in Lion's Head.
