Colts Shoot Down Spitfires

Barrie | by Ken Hashizume

Blackwood makes 32 saves, Labanc now has a goal in last 7 games.

A familiar face returned to Barrie but the Colts were not very accommodating.

Mackenzie Blackwood was stellar in net making 32 saves in a 3-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL on Saturday.

Roy Radke, Andrew Mangiapane, and Kevin Labanc got the goals for the Colts (24-14-0-1).

Labanc now has at least a goal in each of his last 7 games.

Connor Chatham had the lone Spitfire (24-11-5-0) goal while Mario Culina had 17 saves in a losing cause.

The game marked the return of former Colt Brendan Lemieux who had no points in his first game in Barrie since being traded to Windsor last month.

Former Spitfire Anthony Stefano was also in that deal and collected an assist against his old team.

The next game for the Colts is this Thursday night when they travel to Erie to face the league-leading Otters.
