Wes For Youth Tourney Continues

Walkerton | by Manny Paiva

Host Sacred Heart remains unbeaten as the playoff format begins.

The 4th annual Wes for Youth Online High School Hockey Tournament continues on Thursday.

The action begins at 8 AM in Mildmay, Walkerton, Hanover and Teeswater.

Of note, the Sacred Heart first boys team won all three games.

The Centre Wellington girls team is also perfect after three games.

The bronze medal games for the boys and girls are at 1:45 PM  and the gold medal games are at 3:10 PM in Mildmay and Walkerton.

The WesForYouthOnline crew provides many extras to help raise awareness of this Youth Mental Health cause. At each arena, they will have draws, displays, information and lots of other events to highlight their great cause and to make the hockey even more enjoyable.

Prior to the start of each team's first game, the WFY crew come into the dressing room to share resources about WesForYouthOnline.ca and Wes Cameron.

This is a charity event and that it will promote mental health awareness among teens and their parents through the Wes For Youth Online Foundation.

Resources will be provided to each team prior to their first game and coaches should be prepared for someone from the Wes For Youth Online Foundation to briefly speak to their teams before their first gameā€¦this is a very important component of the tournament and it sets the tone for the two days of hockey and fun.
