Kings Beat Crosstown Rival Flyers

Robinson scores and gets 2 assists in 1st game back with Penetang.


A familiar face helping the Penetang Kings get back into the win column.
 
Craig Robinson scored and added 2 assists in his first game back as the Kings defeated the Midland Flyers 4-1 Sunday afternoon in the annual Challenge Cup game.
 
Robinson played 4 seasons with the Junior C club before trying out with a senior men's league at the start of this season.
 
Evan Buehler gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead with his goal just 1:47 into the game.
 
Nate Archer would respond for the Kings (12-17-1) at the 5:18 mark of the first period to tie the game at 1-1.
 
Then with 22 seconds remaining in the opening period, Ben Sly scored to give the Kings a 2-1 lead after one period.
 
Matt VanBoven had the other Kings' goal while Matt Gill collected 2 assists.
 
The win was the Kings' 2nd in their last 6 games, the Flyers (16-13-1) have now lost 2 in a row.
 
Andrew North had 42 saves in the victory while Jake Norton made 35 in the loss.
 
Penetang went 2-for-7 on the power play, Midland finished 0-for-5.
