Attack Stung by Sarnia Sting

Sarnia | by Bayshore News Staff

Owen Sound loses 1-0 to Sarnia; Attack prepare for visit to Windsor.

The Owen Sound Attack continue to struggle to score goals on the road.

Jeff King's power play goal in the second period stood up as the game winner as the Sarnia Sting downed the Owen Sound Attack 1-0 in the OHL on Friday night.

Justin Fazio stopped all 25 shots he faced for the Sting (12-7-2).

Michael McNiven kept Owen Sound in the game and played well, turning aside 30 shots for the Attack (10-7-4).

Owen Sound almost tied it up in the third period by going with their younger players and outshot the Sting 13-5, but couldn't get the equalizer.

With the win, Sarnia moves two points ahead of the Attack in the Western Conference.

The loss snaps Owen Sound's streak of points in five straight games.

Owen Sound has only scored 15 goals in eight road games.

The Attack are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Windsor at 7:05 PM.

The Spitfires are coming off a 3-2 win over Guelph on Thursday.
