Colts Dampen the Spirit

Mangiapane collects a natural hat trick for Barrie.

The long break did not affect the Barrie Colts.
Andrew Mangiapane collected a natural hat trick in a 5-1 Colts victory over the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday.
Barrie got on the board first on a goal by Zach Magwood.
Saginaw would tie the game early in the 2nd on a power play by Connor Brown.
Ben Hawerchuk's goal would put the Colts up for good at 2-1.
Then Mangiapane would score two of his 3 goals in a 22-second span late in the period.
Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 33 shots for the Colts (12-6-0-0).
David Ovsjannikov made 27 saves for the Spirit (8-10-1-1).
Barrie finished 1-for-3 on the power play, Saginaw went 1-for-6.
The next game for the Colts is Sunday afternoon when they travel to North Bay to play the Battalion.
