Late Goal Sinks Colts
DeBrincat gives Erie 4-3 win; complete OHL Roundup from Thursday.
A late goal did in the Barrie Colts.
Dylan Strome scored twice in the Erie Otters' 4-3 win over the Colts on Thursday night.
Alex DeBrincat scored the game winner for the Otters with 57 seconds left in regulation.
The Colts were down 3-1 in the 2nd period when Andrew Mangiapane and Cordell James scored to tie the game at 3-3.
Jake Lawr had 23 saves in net for the Otters (11-1-1-0) while Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 30 shots for the Colts (8-5-0-0).
The next game for the Colts is Saturday afternoon when they travel to Hamilton to play the Bulldogs.
The Kitchener Rangers continue to roll in the OHL as they hammered the Peterborough Petes 7-2.
Ryan MacInnis scored four times for the Rangers who have yet to lose in regulation.
Newcomer Jeremy Bracco played his first game for Kitchener after leaving Boston College and added two assists.
The Petes meanwhile have lost six in a row.
Elsewhere in the OHL -- Mississauga blew a 2-0 lead and lost 4-2 to Niagara.
Josh Ho-Sang had a goal and an assist for the Ice Dogs.
The North Bay Battalion beat the Ottawa 67's 3-2 in overtime -- Zach Poirier scored the game winner for North Bay to end their three game skid.
The Windsor Spitfires also blanked the Flint Firebirds 3-0.
New Spits goalie Garret Hughson from the WHL stopped all 28 shots his way for the shutout -- and Daniil Vertiy had a pair of goals for Windsor.
The Owen Sound Attack are back in action Friday.
The Attack visit the Saginaw Spirit at 7 PM.
