The Colorado Avalanche of the NHL have announced they have signed former Owen Sound Attack star Joey Hishon to a one-year contract.
Hishon -- who was a restricted free agent -- appeared in 13 games for the Avalanche last season and scored his first NHL goal April 7th against Nashville.
A restricted free agent, Hishon signed with the Avalanche who drafted him in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft
Drafted 8th overall by the Attack in 2007, Hishon played 4 years in Owen Sound and scored 110 goals.
Hishon put up 255 points, the 4th highest career total in Owen Sound franchise history behind only Bobby Ryan, Andrew Brunette and Jim Brown.
