Baycats Outlast Bandits

DeGrace drives in winning run for Barrie, 1 of 3 he had in game.


The Barrie Baycats were in tough against a gritty Burlington Bandits team.
 
But the Baycats were the ones on the winning end of the score on Tuesday.

Kyle DeGrace drove in the winning run in the 8th inning with an R-B-I single giving Barrie a 9-8 victory over the Bandits.
 
DeGrace finished the game going 3-for-5 with 3 R-B-Is and a run scored.
 
Both teams exchanged leads twice during the game.
 
Ryan Spataro and Glenn Jackson each had 2 hits and scored 3 times for the Baycats (21-4).
 
Down 8-5, Shawn Cooper slugged a 3-run home run for Burlington (8-16) in the 8th to tie the game at 8-8.
 
Chris England went 5-and-two-thirds innings allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits, 4 walks, and struck out 3 for Barrie.
 
The Baycats' next game is Thursday night when they host the Brantford Red Sox at Coates Stadium.
