Baycats Beat Panthers Again

Castaldo with 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored for Barrie in 7-4 victory.

The top two teams in the Intercounty League squared off in Midhurst.

Jordan Castaldo and Jeff Cowan each had three hits as the Barrie Baycats defeated the Kitchener Panthers 7-4 on Thursday night.
 
Castaldo also scored twice and drove in two runs.
 
Ryan Spataro, Kyle DeGrace, and Kevin Atkinson each had a pair of hits for the Baycats.
 
Barrie broke it open with three runs in the 3rd and two more in the 5th for a 6-1 lead.
 
Kitchener rallied to score three in the 8th to cut the deficit to 6-4.
 
Jonathan Brouse and Ricky Murray each went 2-for-4 for the Panthers.
 
Brad Bissell went six innings giving up a run on three hits, walking four and striking out four for the win.
 
The win gives the Baycats a two and a half game lead on the Panthers for first place in the standings.
 
The next game for the Baycats is Saturday afternoon when they travel to Burlington to play the Bandits.
