Hornets Complete the Comeback

Annett scores two in Alliston's 4-1 win over Walkerton to clinch series in 7 games.

The Alliston Hornets are no stranger to comebacks.

The Hornets scored four unanswered goals -- two of them from Connor Annett -- in a 4-1 win over the Walkerton Hawks on Sunday to clinch the Junior C quarterfinal playoff series in 7.
The Hawks opened the scoring on a second period goal by Justin Donnelly for a 1-0 lead.
The Hornets answered two minutes later on Matt Taylor's goal to tie it at 1-1.
49 seconds after that, Annett would put Alliston up 2-1 with his first of two.
Nick Arcan would make it 3-1 for the Hornets with 4:09 left in the third period.
Tyler Brindle stopped 20 shots for the Hornets while Erik Angeli made 29 saves for the Hawks.
Both teams did not score on the power play -- Alliston were 0-for-2 and Walkerton went 0-for-4.
It marks the second time in four years that the Hornets won a Schmalz Cup playoff series after starting down 3-0.
The last time was in 2012 against Campbellford in the semi final round.
The Hornets will take on the Port Hope Panthers in the semi finals.
Game 1 will go this Wednesday night  in Alliston.
