Baptiste To Otters

Erie & Sudbury | by Bayshore News Staff

Wolves Deal Star Winger

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League acquired Nicholas Baptiste from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for Travis Wood, Cole Mayo and 4 draft picks.

Baptiste, the Wolves first round draft pick in 2011 has 11 points in 12 games since returning from injury

Playing with Mathew Campagna & Nathan Pancel, Baptiste scored 45 goals last year for the Wolves.

Now, with the potential of playing alongside a healthy Connor McDavid, the potential for Baptiste to score increases significantly

The Otters lead the Western Conference with 39 points and the deal is viewed as a " go-for-it " transaction as Erie aims for their first OHL title since 2002.

Ontario Hockey League observers are eager to see what the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds & Oshawa Generals will do in light of these moves.
