Blandisi Named Colts Captain

20-year-old Markham native becomes team's 16th Captain, succeeding Ekblad.

We are well into the 2014-2015 OHL season but the Barrie Colts have officially named their new Captain.
Overage forward Joseph Blandisi was named as the team's 16th Captain on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old from Markham is in his 4th season in the Ontario Hockey League.
Blandisi -- a former Owen Sound Attack forward has 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 19 games this season.
He succeeds Aaron Ekblad who is currently with the NHL's Florida Panthers after being taken 1st overall in Entry Draft this past summer.
Also, the Colts have named forwards Garrett Hooey and Brendan Lemieux, and defensemen Jonathan Laser and Michael Webster as Alternate Captains.
