Busy Junior C Hockey Weekend

Regional | by Bayshore News Staff

Three games on Friday, three more Saturday in Western Junior C Hockey.

The Goderich Flyers take the ice again to face the Hanover Barons after a week off in Western Junior C Hockey League play.

The Flyers are looking to improve on their 1-5-and-0 record, and are coming off a 3-2 loss to Kincardine at MRC last Saturday.

The Barons lost 3-2 to the Bulldogs at the P&H Centre on Friday night.

Goderich head coach Dave Errington says the loss to Kincardine pointed out the need to work on the power-play and faceoffs in practice this week.

The Flyers went 1-for-5 with the man advantage in their last game, but the penalty-killing unit limited Kincardine to two goals in eight opportunities.

Errington says his team is working hard to improve, and can beat the physically-larger Hanover club with their speed and intelligent decision-making.

The Flyers and Hanover face off at MRC at 7:30 PM on Saturday.

Other Western Junior C action has Mitchell at Walkerton at 7:20 PM, and Wingham at Mount Forest at 8:30 PM.

Wingham lost 5-1 to Mitchell on Friday while Walkerton outscored Mount Forest 8-5.
