Shield Defeat Aces, Still Unbeaten

Smith with six points for South Muskoka; Warren answers with three goals for Rama.

Forget the Jones, the Rama Aces had trouble keeping up with the Smiths.

South Muskoka scored often on Friday as Braden Smith had a pair of goals and four assists in the Shield's 10-5 victory over the visiting Aces.

Rama was up 2-1 early in the second period when South Muskoka scored five straight to take a 6-2 lead.

Trevor Smith, Jeff Whitwell, Michael Gambacorta, and Ladislav Gardy each collected two goals each for South Muskoka (5-0-0).

Curtis Warren had three goals while Ryan Pipher and Shayne Borden each had singles for the Aces (4-3-0).

Special teams also went in favour of the Shield as they went 1 for 6 on the power play and scored twice while short-handed.

Rama went 0 for 7 with the man advantage.

The Aces are off until Thursday when they travel to Meaford to play the Knights.
