Matthew Mah scored the game-winning goal just 15 seconds into the third period, as the Kincardine Bulldogs got by the Goderich Flyers 3-2 in Western Junior C hockey.
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start, with goals from Gerrit Satosek and Riley Cook just 45 seconds apart in the first period at MRC Saturday.
The Flyers' Liam Melady set up Tyler Helesic in close late in the opening frame, to reduce Kincardine's lead to 2-1.
Jesse McIntyre tied the game on the power play for Goderich on a set-up by Jordan Pepper at 5:14 of the second period.
Kincardine outshot the Flyers 32 to 25, with goaltender Luke Aulthouse picking up the win for the Bulldogs.
Flyers' head coach Dave Errington tells Bayshore Broadcasting Sports that while his team has struggled in the early going, their work ethic will pay off.
He calls his players "workhorses" who are eager to learn and improve.
The game was Goderich's last of three played in four nights, with a 3-2 double-overtime win in Mitchell Wednesday and an 8-2 loss in Walkerton Friday.
Errington says the Flyers will work on the power-play and on faceoffs in their upcoming practice.
He praises Goderich's penalty-kill, which stalled six out of eight Bulldog power-plays.
The Flyers host Hanover next Saturday at MRC.
The Bulldogs travel to Hanover for their next game on Friday.
In other Western Junior C play Saturday, Hanover defeated Mitchell 5-2.
Walkerton's game in Mount Forest was postponed.
