Wilson Called Up by Panthers

Elmvale native, former Attack Captain, set to make NHL debut on Tuesday.

Former Attack Captain Garrett Wilson of Elmvale has been recalled from San Antonio to join the NHL's Florida Panthers. 

Former Owen Sound Attack Captain Garrett Wilson has been called up to the NHL.

The Florida Panthers have recalled Wilson from the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL -- and the left winger is set to make his NHL debut Tuesday night in San Jose.

The 23 year old Wilson has 24 points in 60 games with San Antonio this season.

He has played in 97 career AHL game over three seasons with the Rampage (2011-14), recording 30 points (16-14-30) and 66 penalty minutes.

The Elmvale native was selected by the Panthers in the fourth round (107th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Wilson wore the Captain's C for the Owen Sound Attack when they won the OHL Championship in 2011.

He scored 93 goals and 182 points in 184 regular season games with the Attack from 2009 to 2011.
