The President of the Saginaw Spirit says no one saw it coming.
Reports say Terry Trafford died from asphyxiation, which police believe to have been self-inflicted.
The 20 year old OHL player was found dead in his truck this week -- more than a week after he was reported missing.
Trafford had been living with Spirit president Craig Goslin.
He says if Trafford was suffering from depression, he kept it well hidden.
Trafford was sent home by the team for an off ice incident while on a road trip in February.
Trafford's funeral will be held next Tuesday in Toronto.
Ward Funeral Home says visitation is Sunday and Monday.
Goslin tells the Saginaw News the team plans to travel to the visitation on Sunday.
The OHL says its home game with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds that was postponed from Wednesday because of Trafford's death will take place Monday, ending its regular season.
Saginaw visits the Greyhounds on Friday, then Saturday hosts the London Knights.
