Colts Beat 67's in Nation's Capital

Theoret scores the game winner as Barrie beats Ottawa 5-3 in the OHL.

For the third time in the last four games, the Barrie Colts pulled out a victory after falling behind early.

Mitchell Theoret broke a 3-3 tie with his third period goal and the Colts went on to beat the Ottawa 67s 5-3 in the OHL on Thursday.

Theoret and Andreas Athanasiou each finished with a goal and an assist while Mackenzie Blackwood made 21 saves in net for the Colts (36-28-1-2).

Barrie and Sudbury have the same number of points in the Eastern Conference standings but the Wolves have 2 games in hand.

Nevin Guy had 2 goals for the 67s (23-38-2-3) who now trail Mississauga by one point for the 8th and final playoff spot in the East.

The Steelheads fell 5-4 to Niagara in a shootout.

The Colts return home to play their regular season finale on Saturday night against the Peterborough Petes.
