Storm Bounce Colts to End 2013

Barrie | by Ken Hashizume

Ebert, Fabbri each with goal and assist in 4-1 victory to spoil Barrie's New Year's.

2013 ends on a disappointing note for the Barrie Colts.

Guelph stormed into Barrie on Tuesday night and picked up a 4-1 win.

The Storm controlled the OHL game from start to finish and the Colts never quite got it in gear.

Nick Ebert and Robby Fabbri each collected a goal and an assist for Guelph.

Justin Auger and Jason Dickinson rounded out the scoring for the Storm (27-7-2-1) while Zac Leslie had 3 assists in the game.

The Colts' (19-15-1-2) lone goal came off the stick of Zach Hall.

Colts goaltender Daniel Gibl allowed 3 goals on 15 shots before being replace early in the second period by Mackenzie Blackwood who recorded 22 saves in relief.

Justin Nichols stopped 34 shot for the Storm.

Both team had plenty of power play opportunities with Barrie going 1 for 9 and Guelph finishing 2 for 7.

The next game for the Colts is Thursday night when they travel to Peterborough to play the Petes.
