A tough loss for the Jim Wilson Orillia Terriers.
Fergus inched closer to Orillia as Matthew Clarke scored with 2:12 remaining in overtime to give the Devils a 4-3 victory Saturday night.
The win puts the Devils three points behind the Terriers in the Georgian Mid-Ontario league standings.
Orillia was up 2-1 late in the second period when Mike Traves scored two goals 1:53 apart to give Fergus a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Jason Binnie's power play goal midway through the third tied the game up for Orillia at 3-3.
Cole Bradley had the other goal for the Devils (9-12-1-1).
Ryan Tucci and Marty Lawlor also scored for the Terriers (10-13-1-2).
Parker Merkley made 46 saves for Fergus while Gordie Weiss stopped 23 for Orillia.
The Terriers went 1 for 5 on the power play, the Devils scored once on 7 opportunities.
The Terriers are back on the ice Sunday afternoon when they host the Erin Shamrocks at Rotary Place.
Elsewhere, Hayden Cole's overtime goal gave the Penetang Kings a 6-5 win over Midland.
Erin scored three unanswered goals in the third as the Shamrock doubled up the Stayner Siskins 4-2.
