The Detroit Red Wings have announced the signing of right winger Zach Nastasiuk on a three-year entry-level NHL contract.
Nastasiuk -- an 18 year old Barrie native -- was recently named captain of the Owen Sound Attack.
Nastasiuk is currently second in team scoring with 18 points (8-10-18) in 16 games.
Drafted by Detroit in the second round, 48th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Nastasiuk has played 146 career OHL games for the Attack, recording 77 points and 55 penalty minutes.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 196 pound forward recorded 20 goals and 40 points in 62 regular-season games and a team-leading 11 points in 12 postseason games.
