Attack Hit the Road
Attack will hope to continue their winning ways as they travel to Saginaw Friday night to face off against the Spirit. This game will mark the first of seven straight road contests for the Attack; a string that will see them away from the Bayshore until November 16th. The fifteen day tour will include games against teams from each division of the OHL, ending in Kitchener against the Rangers on November 15th.
With such a long time away from home, the Attack will hope to continue riding the hot hand of Kurtis Gabriel. Recently named Attacker of the Week, Gabriel has tallied 5 goals along with 10 assists so far this season. Seven of Gabriel’s points have been scored in his last 4 games. Also riding a hot streak is winger Kyle Hope, who has tallied 5 points of his own over the last 4 games, while also keeping an impressive +6 rating over that span.
The Attack will also have to rely on the solid goaltending of Brandon Hope, who is coming off a big win against the Barrie Colts, where he turned aside 35 of the total 38 shots.
Friday, November 01-13: Owen Sound at Saginaw
Saginaw will be looking to continue their win streak on Friday night against the Attack. The Spirit have put together two straight against tough opponents in Barrie and Plymouth. With a win tonight, Saginaw would move up in their division, surpassing the Spitfires in the west. The Spirit will have to continue to rely on their consistent play at even strength; an ability that has been highlighted by 15 of the Spirit’s players retaining a positive plus/minus rating so far this season.
Look Out For: Eric Locke has impressed with his scoring this season, totalling 11 points in just 9 games played. The Buffalo prospect is looking to build on last season’s success, where he scored 97 points in 68 games.
Saturday November 02-13: Owen Sound at Windsor
Owen Sound will be looking for their first win of the season versus Windsor on Saturday night. The Spitfires have won the first two meetings between the clubs this year; the latest of which was in overtime last Sunday at the Bayshore. Currently on a 4 game win streak, the Spitfires sit 2nd in their division, trailing the red hot Greyhounds. For the Attack to have success, the Attack will have to contain their high powered offense, currently boasting 4 players with a point per game average or more.
Look Out For: Columbus first rounder Kerby Rychel has had a strong showing so far this season, tallying 24 points in Windsor’s 14 games.
Catch the Game on: Saturday’s game will be available on Rogers’ TV. You can also listen in on the game with Fred Wallace on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry’s Trailer Service Bear Radio. The game is also on Rogers TV Local Channel 53.
