The Owen Sound Attack will depart for Erie Tuesday night to prepare for road games on Wednesday against the Otters and on Thursday night in St Catharines against the IceDogs.
Fourteen of the next 20 games for the Attack will be on the road starting this week. The sequence of road games will take Owen Sound to the end of November when the balance of games will shift to home ice affairs.
On Monday, the Attack reassigned underage netminder Michael McNiven to the Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League.
McNiven -- who was drafted in the 4th round, 66th overall in the OHL Priority Selection -- was signed by the Attack and the assumption was that he would serve as a backup netminder to Brandon Hope in his underage season.
However, after training camp and several exhibition appearances, the Attack felt McNiven would benefit from playing more games in the Ontario Junior A League.
To this point, the former Halton netminder had not seen any game action with the Attack.Meanwhile underage defender Connor Walters will travel with the team after making his debut Saturday against the Kitchener Rangers.
Initially, Walters -- who is also signed by the Attack -- was called up under the assumption that Tyler MacArthur would be suspended for his part in a melee at Guelph on Friday.
However, MacArthur was not suspended by the OHL as they overturned the on ice call of the incident Friday, yet Walters had already been summoned and the initial request to have him join the Attack continued.
With defender Kurtis MacDermid serving a suspension, it's expected Walters will suit up for the game at Erie.
It's conceivable that Walters -- who is from the Niagara region -- will be returned to his club team once the Erie-Niagara swing is completed.
