The Baycats are now halfway from dethroning the defending Intercounty League champs as Jason Coker's steal of home in the 8th inning proved to be the difference in a 6-5 win Saturday night.

Earlier in the inning, Coker hit an R-B-I triple to give Barrie a 5-3 lead at the time.

Down 6-3, Brantford scored twice in the 9th to cut Barrie's lead to one before reliever Adam Hawes shut the door for the victory.

Ryan Spataro went 3-for-4 with a walk, an R-B-I, and a run scored for the Baycats.

Starter Brad Bissel went eight innings giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits, walking none, and striking out five for the win.

Red Sox Starter Chris Chavez went six innings surrendering three runs on 11 hits and got a no-decision.

The Baycats have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven final for the Dominico Trophy with Game 3 Sunday night in Brantford.
