Baycats Sweep Majors

Barrie advances to IBL final with a 10-4 win over London.

The Barrie Baycats making short work of the London Majors.

The Baycats scored 6 times in the 4th inning -- all with 2 outs -- on their way to a 10-4 win Tuesday night to sweep the rain-delayed semi final series in 4 straight.

Barrie got the offense going in the first with 3 runs off starter and losing pitcher Brett Sabourin highlighted by R-B-I doubles from Jordan Castaldo and Kevin Atkinson for a 3-0 lead.

Castaldo and Atkinson each finished with 3 R-B-Is.

Atkinson and Kyle DeGrace each homered for the Baycats.

Barrie starter Adam Rowe pitched 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 10 hits for the victory.

Cleveland Brownlee and Parris Austin hit home runs for the Majors.

The Baycats will take on the defending champion Brantford Red Sox for the IBL championship.
