Hanover Raceway had a full card with 10 races on Saturday night.
Long time race fan June Fritsch of Chesley celebrated her birthday on Saturday and Hanover Raceway honoured her with the June Fritsch Trot in Race # 4. Tommy Andersson was the winner of the June Fritsch Trot taking " Sharpshot Hall " to victory. Trainer Kevin McMaster continues to master Hanover Raceway, as he won his 8th race in 8 starts with " Stars Xample " in Race number 6.
The highlight of the night was the Final of the Pick 3 Fantasy Contest, for the fans. Perle Breadner of Markdale was the contest winner, picking up 29 points on the final night and winning by 2 points over a field of 8 handicappers, who earned their spot in the finals, during the qualifying weeks earlier.
The next Fan contest will start in 2 weeks, with the co-operation of Country 93 and Modern Appliances of Hanover. Fans will be asked to pick a horse in 4 consecutive races, and their horse must finish in the top 3 payoff positions. If they get all 4 correct, they’ll earn a spot in the finals on July 20th. The top finisher in the finals will win a giant TV courtesy of Modern and Country 93. There will also be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place.
Racing resumes Saturday June 15th with Molson's Men's Night @ Hanover Raceway
