Flyers Eliminate Siskins

Midland | by Ken Hashizume

Cody Beasley's natural hat trick helps Midland beat Stayner in Game 6 of Series.

The Midland Flyers are going on to the Georgian Mid-Ontario finals.

Cody Beasley's natural hat trick was just enough for the Flyers as they beat the Stayner Siskins 3-2 Tuesday night to take the semi-final series in 6 games.

Trailing 3-0 in the third period, Stayner scored two late goals by Mike Mullay and James Mense-Dietrich to cut Midland's lead to 3-2.

Marco Colangelo made 24 saves for the Flyers in place of injured starter Connor Akins, 11 of them coming in the third.

Taylor Trace stopped 19 shots for the Siskins.

This is the first game of the series where the home team has won.

This is also the first time that Midland has reached the league finals in over a decade.

The Flyers will face the winner of the Alliston-Penetang semi-final series.
