Blue Devils host Nationals after dominating the Dodgers and Owen Sound goes 1-1 in doubleheader

On the diamond in the Bluewater Fastball League, the Owen Sound Volkswagen Selects went 1 for 1 in their doubleheader Tuesday night.

Owen Sound beat the Tara Merchants 6-5  in extra innings.

Matt Wardrop picked up the win on the hill for Owen Sound with 3 strikeouts and two walks.

Gowan Stuck led the offence for Owen Sound with 3 hits.

In their second game, the Wiarton Red Devils beat the Selects 8-6.

Travis Jones was the winning pitcher and chipped in with a great offensive game with two home-runs, one triple, four RBI's and 3 runs scored.

Ty Sebastian also went deep for the Red Devils.

In other action last night, the Port Elgin Blue Devils shut out the Durham Dodgers 8-0.

Matt Hamilton and Pete Spitzig combined for a 3-hitter, with 5 strikeouts.

Tonight, the Port Elgin Blue Devils are home to the Wiarton Nationals.

First pitch is 8:30 in Port Elgin.

This weekend the Owen Sound Junior Volkswagen Selects are in Midland, Michigan for the Junior Explorer Invitational Menís Fastpitch Tournament.
