Strikers shutout another team and move three points clear for top spot


The way things are going for the Owen Sound Strikers there could be two Premier Division clubs in the Scenic City next season.

In Division One action in the York Region Soccer League action last night, Owen Sound won 2-0 in Orillia.

That is the 6th shutout this year for Owen Sound, who now improve to 7-1.

Chris Mahy had his 4th shutout in net for the Strikers.

The Strikers now move ahead of Alliston for first place by three points with four games left in the season.

In the Premier Division last night, Owen Sound Grey Motors United lost at home to Collingwood 2-1.

Brandon Twineing opened the scoring in the first half for United but Collingwood tied it before the half and added another goal in the second half.

Owen Sound is now off until Thursday August the 2nd.
