Bluewater Fastball League

Mildmay Mets at Port Elgin Blue Devils   

Game time is 8:30 pm at Lakeview Park

Last night, the Owen Sound Selects defeated the Saugeen Shores Smoke 7-4.

The Selects are 6 & 1 on the season in Bluewater play.


OASA Junior Elimination

The Keady Jets are hosting the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Junior Elimination Tournament.

The 12 team tournament will run June 29th to July 1st at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Selects will host the Canadian Junior Fastball Championship Tournament August 6th to 12th at Duncan McLellan Park

Kaitlin Marrin of Oakville defeated Meghan McDougall from Markham 7 & 6

Julia Hodgson of Unionville defeated Richmond Hill golfer Alina Rogers 4 & 3

Marrin & Hodgson will meet for the title later today



Longest Day of Golf

The " Longest Day of Golf " at the Walkerton Golf & Curling Club was staged yesterday.

The promotion attracted 260 golfers and generated more than $ 57,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Welcome To Summer

The Port Elgin Beach Volleyball Club is staging the " Welcome To Summer " Beach Volleyball Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Main Beach in Port Elgin.

The event will feature 26 teams competing in 2 divisions

Nobili Interview

Former Owen Sound Attack Assistant Coach Jason Nobili will be the head coach for the Markham Waxers of the Ontario Junior Hockey league.

Nobili will also be a member of the coaching staff for the World Junior A Hockey Challenge this coming season.

Final registration for Shallow Lake Minor Hockey is tonight.

Registration runs from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Shallow Lake Community Centre
