Canada to Face USA & Internationals at 2012 Canadian Tour International Team Matches at eQuinelle Golf Club in Kemptville, Ont. September 11 & 12, 2012
(Brockville, Ontario -May 29, 2012) Evolution Golf and Event Management Inc. and the Canadian Professional Golf Tour announced today that The International Team Matches, a one day event, will be played at the eQuinelle Golf Club in Kemptville, Ontario on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 for The Commissioner's Cup.
36 Canadian Tour players, 12 each from Canada, the USA and an International side will play for The Commissioner's Cup in a match play format and for a purse of $25,000. A Charity Pro-Am in support of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health's "Do It for Daron" fund will be played on Monday, September 10th as part of this two day event - the first ever men's professional golf competition to be played at this new course.
The Charity Pro-Am and International Team Matches are an extension of The Great Waterway Classic that is being played at Smuggler's Glen GC in Gananoque from September 3-9. This Canadian Tour stop is the inaugural event in a four year series that will see The Great Waterway Classic move to Upper Canada GC in 2013, Loyalist G&CC in 2014, and Black Bear Ridge GC in 2015.
At a "Nine and Dine" hosted by General Manager Katharine Usher-Vollett and her staff at the eQuinelle Golf Club today, representatives from the Canadian Tour, Evolution Golf, the Great Waterway Tourism Region, the North Grenville business community, as well as municipal government officials gathered to hear the announcement that a two day Canadian Tour sanctioned event would be held at eQuinelle GC on September 10-11. 2012.

We will be raising funds for charity and showcasing 36 top Canadian Tour players over two days of play at this great new golf course that our friends at Evolution Golf have highly recommended," said Richard Janes, Commissioner & CEO of the Canadian Professional Golf Tour. "The significance of playing these International Team Matches on September 11th has not been lost on our planning group and we intend to mark that day in a special manner to honour our neighbours from the United States of America," added Janes.

The International Team Matches are the third piece in a growing inventory of events that are managed by Evolution Golf. The series of four Great Waterway Classic Canadian Tour events was announced on January 19, 2012 at Smuggler's Glen GC. The Evolution Golf - St. Lawrence Junior Tour was launched on May 15th at the Amherstview GC near Kingston, ON. The Great Waterway Classic activation team will be at over 70 events throughout Eastern Ontario, the National Capital Region, and the Ottawa Valley during this golf season promoting the Great Waterway Classic and The International Team Matches.
