It was a meltdown.
That's how the Junior B Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam Northstars coach Keith Peer describes the loss suffered at the hands of the Windsor Clippers.
Playing a home game at the Plex in Port Elgin on Saturday -- the Northstars went into the third period with an 11-5 lead over the Clippers and then the meltdown.
The Clippers registered 10-goals in a row in the third and overtime periods before Owen Sound scored again in OT but it was too late.
The Clippers beat the Northstars 14-12.
Peer tells Bayshore Broadcasting sports the squad is only playing 40-minutes of lacrosse and you can't expect to win with that kind of effort.
He says Windsor stole two points from the Northstars.
The local squad doesn't have a lot of time to lick their wounds.
They're back in action this afternoon at 2 PM at the Bayshore when they host Brampton.
