Collingwood Team Wins Silver Stick

Atoms also named best Sports at Tournament in Sarnia

A group of young hockey players from Collingwood won the International Silver Stick Finals Tournament in Sarnia this weekend.

The McQueenvue Paving Atom A team won 6-1 against Dorchester to open the tournament, then beat a team from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 6-1.

The Blackhawks won 4-2 against South Bend Indiana's Irish Rovers, then 5-3 against the Brampton Battalion to earn a berth in the final against Arapahoe Colorado Warriors.

The final score in the final game 5-2 for Collingwood.

The team was also got the Bob Leclair Memorial Award. for sportsmanship.

Emmett Sproule was named outstanding player while Sproule and teammate Myles Baker were named to the tournament All Star Team.
