Winterhawks Remain Perfect

Saugeen Shores | by John Divinski

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks have now won eleven straight games.

The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks continue their winning ways in the Senior AA men's hockey league.

On Friday night -- they hammered the Walkerton Capitals 12-0 to take their 11th game in a row and remain undefeated.

Winterhawks coach Jim Grieve was happy for the two points but says he doesn't like the kind of game it was last night.

Grieve says when the score isn't close, sometimes players can start losing focus and make mistakes.

Crabby Joe's Player of the game Blake Underwood credited his teammates with his excellent showing.

Underwood picked up 7-points on three goals and 4 assists.

Goalie Andrew Smith picked up the shut-out for the Winterhawks facing only 19 shots in the game.

The next game for the Winterhawks is on the road tonight at the Clifford Arena when they visit the Mapleton-Minto 81's, formerly the Palmerston 81's.
