Clarke MacArthur scored twice, and the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs lit up Steve Mason with four goals on 11 shots in a 4-1 win over Columbus in N-H-L action. With the win, the Leafs currently have the most points in the N-H-L with 19.
Elsewhere, Edmonton won their 6th in a row shutting out L-A 3-nothing; Calgary beat Detroit 4-1; Winnipeg blanked the N-Y Islanders 3-0 and Minnesota let loose on Vancouver with a 5-1 victory over the Canucks.
In O-H-L action, the Barrie Colts picked up their second win in a row against the Windsor Spitifires last night. The Colts scored two in the first and two in the third skating to a 5-2 win at the W-F-C-U Centre in Windsor.
The Stayner Siskins choked in the third period hosting Alliston in Georgian Bay Mid-Ontario Junior ‘C’ action last night. Alliston rallied with 3 goals in the third defeating Stayner 4-2.
Over to the C-F-L…the Toronto Argonauts ended a disappointing season with a 33-16 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Argos missed the playoffs for the third time in four years, while Hamilton will visit Montreal or Winnipeg in the East Division semifinal.
Ken Miller closes out his coaching career tonight when he leads the Saskatchewan Roughriders into their season finale in Edmonton. The Eskimos enter the final weekend of the season tied with Calgary and B-C for first place in the West
In high school football…the C-C-I Junior Fighting Owls host Innisdale in semi-final action this afternoon at 2:30. The Junior Owls are coming off a big victory over Eastview earlier this week. Elsewhere, Banting visits Bear Creek at 3:30.
