Attack Win Opener

Childerley Scores Twice In Victory Over Whalers


The Owen Sound Attack won their season & home opener in the Ontario Hockey League, dropping the Plymouth Whalers 6-2 at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.

Brendan Childerley led the Attack with a 2 goal performance.

Gemel Smith, Daniel Catenacci, Zach Nastasiuk & Joseph Blandisi also scored for the Attack.

For Nastasiuk & Blandisi it was their first OHL goals in their first OHL appearances.

J.P. Cesario made 29 saves to post the win, his first victory in the OHL.

Mitchell Heard & Andy Bathgate scored for the Whalers in the loss.

The victory was also the first of the OHL coaching career for new Attack coach Greg Ireland.

Friday, the Attack are at Guelph to face the Storm in a Midwest Division matchup.
