OLA Junior B Lacrosse

Elora Mohawks at Orangeville Northmen

The Mohawks lead the Midwest Division by 1 point over Orangeville, so the winner tonight will claim first place in the division

The Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars finished the season at 4 & 16 and will not advance to the playoffs this year

Owen Sound lost their season finale at home 14-4 to Six Nations last night.


Woodsmen Friday ?

The Owen Sound Quantum Properties Woodsmen are scheduled to host the Ohsweken Warriors on Friday in Senior Lacrosse.

However, the Warriors status is in doubt after the weekend

Ohsweken informed the Ontario Lacrosse Association that they were folding, but then recanted and said they weren't folding.

A meeting to clarify the situation is expected to be conducted today by the O.L.A.

The Woodsmen lead the league at 11 & 1

Ohsweken is 6th at 2 & 6.

Division One

Barrie Spirit at Newmarket Lions  

Tuesday, Collingwood United will host Bradford SC Plus

Also tomorrow in the Premier Division, Owen Sound Grey Motors United will travel to Orillia.


Cup Update

Both Owen Sound entries and both Collingwood entries have advanced in the York Region Soccer League Traginitis Cup playdowns.

Owen Sound Grey Motors United advanced with a 2-1 win over Barrie Spirit in a game decided by penalty kicks.

Meanwhile, the Owen Sound Strikers advanced with a 3-1 victory over Muskoka United as Mike Campbell scored twice.

Collingwood United of the Premier Division blanked Innisfil SC, while the Collingwood United squad from Division 1 beat SC Plus 3-1

Grey Motors United, the Strikers, and both Collingwood United clubs now advance to Round 2, although quarterfinal matchups have not been scheduled.

GAO Women's Match Play

at Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club, Orillia


The Ontario MidAmateur Championship begins tomorrow at Wildfire Golf Course at Lakefield.

Phillip Carleton of Owen Sound Golf & Country is among the players scheduled to compete.


Junior Fastball Results

A junior fastball entry from the Owen Sound region performed well at the annual Midland Explorers Tournament in Michigan.

The Owen Sound club, one of two from Owen Sound that will compete at the Ontario Championship Tournament, advanced to the Final 4 before they were eliminated by the host Midland Explorers.

The Ontario Junior Fastball Championship Tournament will be July 1st to 3rd at Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound.
