Dustin Veenhof fired a 3 hit shutout for the Aces

Mike Wallfor connected for a 3 run homer to drive in all the runs for Chepstow

Chatsworth Yellow Jackets 12 Harold Sutherland Construction 5

Tyler Baumber, Brett Hall & Brandon Hall all had home runs for the Yellow Jackets



OLA Junior B Lacrosse

Elora Mohawks 18 Guelph Regals 9

Elora will be in Owen Sound tonight to face the Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars

Game time is 8 pm at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore


Sarnia Pacers 13 Wallaceburg Red Devils 8

The loss prevented Wallaceburg from clinching a playoff berth

Wallaceburg will be in Owen Sound on Saturday night to meet the NorthStars

Three races in the Saugeen Claiming Series highlighted the card last night

In the 8th, " Dreamfair Alexis " with Ryan Holliday driving, scored the win after going off at 41-1 odds

The closest event of the night was the 4th where " Distintiv Dreamer " for Bob McClure scored a photo finish victory over 3 others at the line

Racing resumes Saturday at Hanover Raceway on Molson's Men's Night

Ontario Men's Champion of Champions

at Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course in Huntsville

Brampton resident Binupa Wijesinghe fired a two-under par 70 to capture the title.

Craig Janzen of Mount Forest, the champion at Pike Lake Golf & Country, tied for 34th at 83.

Steve Irving from Owen Sound Golf & Country was 54th with an 89


Opportunity For Maidens & Smith

Owen Sound Attack forwards Jarrod maidens & Gemel Smith have been invited to compete for a spot on Canada's Summer Under 18 Hockey team

Maidens and Smith will be in Calgary next month, along with 40 other players, hoping to make Canada's entry for the Ivan Hlinka memorial Tournament in August.

Meanwhile, Attack coach Mark Reeds relates he's been travelling in the United States, primarily to attend his son, Kyle's, graduation from Dartmouth University.

As a result, Reeds confirms he has not spoken with, or been contacted, by the Ottawa Senators regarding any potential job opportunity with the NHL club.

Reeds, who guided the Attack to the OHL Championship, was reportedly linked to new Senators coach Paul MacLean and a possible position as an assistant coach


OHA Meeting

The Ontario Hockey Association's Annual General Meeting begins today at Alliston

Collingwood will be interested to see if there is any presentation of a future for Junior Hockey in the town.

The Ontario Junior Hockey League contracted recently, eliminating the Blackhawk franchise, along with Orangeville and Dixie.

Collingwood was denied in an attempt to play in the Georgian MidOntario Junior C League & Junior B play is not feasible economically for the club.


Mustang Athletics

The St Mary's Mustangs held their year end Athletic Awards.

The Athletes of the Year were Kristen Eckert & Brandon Twining.

The Mustang Award winners were Charlotte Curley along with Jesse & Jordan Borges

Garrett Lewis had 2 goals & 6 points while Reid Simmonds had a hat trick & 5 points for Owen Sound

Mister Transmission & the Cresents will compete this weekend at the annual Harry Kazarian Memorial Minor Lacrosse Tournament
