Last night’s game also featured a shocking hit between Bruins forward Nathan Horton and Canucks defenceman Aaron Rome. Horton was taken off the ice on a stretcher and strapped to a backboard. The team announced Horton was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and was moving his arms and legs. Aaron Rome faces a disciplinary hearing later this morning.
The N-B-A finals continue tonight in Dallas where the Mavericks will try to avoid falling into a deep hole against Miami. The Heat are up 2-1 in the series with Game 5 slated for Thursday. Miami last hoisted the trophy in 2006 with a clinching Game 6 victory in Dallas.
In Major League Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays wasted a solid performance from Brandon Morrow and let a late-inning lead slip away losing to Kansas City in extra innings 3-2. Toronto has three more games with the Royals. Kyle Drabek slated to take the mound tonight.
In local soccer action, Prudential squeaked by Supercuts 3-2 while Boston Pizza were 4-nothing winners over Team Self Storage. Bell’s Maple Park beat Carquest 5-1 in the Wasaga Women’s Rec League.
Stayner Sportsarama topped Orillia 3-2 in the Wasaga Beach Soccer Club Under 16 Boys’ division.
