Pilote To Headline Night on June 2nd.

The 19th Annual Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by Trillium Mutual Insurance and Brick Breweries is pleased to announce this year’s lead celebrity for this year’s charity event.

Hall of Fame Inductee and former Chicago Blackhawk Pierre Pilote will be the featured guest at this year’s tournament.

Pilote enjoyed an illustrious 13 year career with the Blackhawks before retiring with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1969. He won a Stanley Cup in 1961 with the Hawks and was awarded the Norris Trophy as the league’s top defenceman from 1963-1965. Pilote became renowned as a tough guy in the league after he knocked both Henri and Maurice Richard out cold during the same melee.

Pierre Pilote will be joined at the Crime Stoppers tournament by other celebrities from the hockey world including three time gold medal winner Cheri Piper who is a veteran of the Canadian National Women’s Hockey team. Cheri will be showing off her gold medals and is certainly a welcomed addition to the star-studded event.

Other attendees include hockey stars from past and present including Curtis Sanford (St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadians), Brett MacLean (Phoenix Coyotes), Justine Peters (Carolina Hurricanes) and Paul MacDermid.

This year’s Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Charity Golf Tournament will once again be held at the Chippewa Golf and Country Club in Southampton on June 2nd with a shotgun start at 11:00am.

Over the past 18 years this tournament has raised in access of $333,000 to help fund Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Inc.
