How would you like to start your fiscal year, four million dollars in the hole?
That's exactly what the Bluewater District School Board is facing for the 2011/2012 year.
In fact, Business Committee Chair Dan Wong says the deficit is over four-million-dollars.
Wong says they'll be looking for suggestions and comments from all stakeholders when the budget talks begin, tonight at 7 PM, at the Bluewater Education Centre in Chesley.
An additional meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 16th at 7 PM at Hillcrest Elementary School in Owen Sound.
Wong says a presentation will be given on the education ministry funding formula and the challenges facing trustees in setting the new budget.
He says they're facing a critical shortfall in money and they need suggestions as to what can be done to balance the budget.
Wong says they know they have some tough decisions ahead.
