The Dundalk Backline Bears took advantage of some wild relief pitching provided by the Singhampton Sting scoring nine runs in the fourth and fifth innings to hold on for an 11-9 decision Wednesday night in Dundalk. Josh Rowbottom gave up only 2 runs in his three innings of work for the Sting and was supported by an inside the park homerun by Chad Gallagher. Logan Wallace started a five run third with a booming triple and later chipped in a stinging double. Ryan Aldcorn took the loss and Ted Clarke finished up the pitching duties for the Sting. Nick Dallabetta led the Bears attack narrowly missing hitting for the cycle as his first inning double crashed off the fence before going triple, single, double and finishing a perfect 4 for 4. Josh Sturrock contributed three rbi's to the Bears offence. John Byers recorded the win going the distance in the season opener for both teams.
