Scores and Games

In N-H-L playoff action, it's another ugly playoff exit for the Washington Capitals. The Tampa Bay Lightning completed a series sweep of the top-seeded team in the East, with a 5-3 victory over Washington. Tampa has won their 7th playoff game in a row. Meanwhile, Boston & San Jose are also in a position to sweep. The Bruins are up 3 games to none on Philly after last night’s 5-1 win while the Sharks beat Detroit 4-3 in overtime to also grab a 3-nothing series lead.

The only playoff game tonight has Vancouver at Nashville with the Canucks leading the best-of-seven 2 games to one.

In O-H-L action, the Mississauga Majors will get a taste of what it’s like to play in a packed house when they visit Owen Sound for Game 2 of the championship final. Despite finishing with the best record in the league, the Majors consistently have a tough time drawing in fans. Game 1 at the Hershey Centre Tuesday night had less than half of the arena’s 5800 capacity occupied.

From the N-B-A conference semi-finals, the Chicago Bulls defeated Atlanta 86-73 to tie their Eastern Conference semifinal at one game apiece. Newly crowned M-V-P Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 25 points and ten assists. Dallas is up 2-0 in its series with Los Angeles, with the Mavericks winning again on the Lakers' home court, 93-81.

In Major League Baseball, Adam Lind went 4-for-4 with a 2-run homer in the Blue Jays’ 3-2 victory at the Rays. Brandon Morrow pitched into the 7th inning picking up his first win of the season. The Jays & Rays finish their 3-game series this afternoon.

And, it was a windy but productive Day 13 at the Georgian Triangle Spring Derby. There’s a new leader in the salmon division and the first brown trout was registered yesterday by Jamie Brown. There’s also a new second-place rainbow in the rankings weighing in at 8.08lbs. Tickets are still available for Day 14 and the weather looks calm & sunny today.
