Windsor Spitfires captain Ryan Ellis has won the Red Tilson Award as the Outstanding Player in the Ontario Hockey League

Ellis, who has won the Memorial Cup twice with Windsor, was selected in a vote conducted among 75 members of the Ontario Hockey League media.

A draft pick of the Nashville Predators of the NHL, it's expected Ellis played his last OHL game in Owen Sound April 27th when the Spitfires were eliminated by the Attack in the Western Conference Championship.

Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile ( Poyle ) stated he loves players who participate in the playoffs into May and he says Ellis certainly fits that description.

Currently, Ellis is with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League playing in their post season.

Ellis is just the 4th defenceman to win the award in its lengthy history

On the season, the native of Freelton, scored 24 times and picked up 100 points for Windsor

Ottawa 67's forward Tyler Toffoli was second in the media balloting while Jason Akeson of the Kitchener Rangers was third.
