Attack Asks Fans to Show Attack and Canadian Pride

At the end of the regular season the Owen Sound Attack requested fans to sing along with Steve Ritchie when he performs Oh Canada. Now the Attack is asking fans to take it a step further. For the upcoming series against the Plymouth Whalers, the Owen Sound Attack will have a giant 10 foot by 20 foot Canadian Flag present at home games that will be passed from section to section by fans over their heads during Oh Canada.

The flag will start in section “A” on Thursday evening and be passed clockwise over sections until the anthem is complete, where it will then be collected by Attack staff for use during the 2nd home game. At the conclusion of the 2011 playoffs, the flag will be autographed by the entire 2010/2011 Attack team and auctioned off at the 2011 Awards BBQ (Date TBD). The proceeds from the flag auction will go to the Military Family Resource Centre in Meaford. The Military Family Resource Centre is a community-based, non-profit organization established to provide information, resources and services to military members, civilian employees and families of LFCA TC Meaford. “Our fans have been very boisterous and proud when participating in singing the National Anthem.”, stated Brent Fisher, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. “We hope fans will participate in this venture with the eventual proceeds going to a very worthwhile cause.”
