Western Conference Quarterfinal

Owen Sound Attack 1 London Knights 0

Former London first rounder Michael Zador made 23 saves to post his second consecutive shutout for the Attack who won the best of 7; 4-2

Robbie Mignardi scored the game winning goal with a minute & 41 seconds to play for Owen Sound who advance to the Conference semifinal against either Plymouth, Erie or Windsor.

Erie Otters 6 Windsor Spitfires 5 in overtime

Brett Thompson scored the game winner for the Otters who tied the best of 7; 3-3

Vincent Trochek scored twice for the Spirit who eliminated Guelph 4 games to 2

Ryan Clarkson scored the game winning goal for Elmira who lead the best of 7; 2-1

Blackhawks Removed

The Collingwood Blackhawks, Orangeville Flyers and Dixie Beehives have been removed of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The league announced the move to reduce the number of teams and increase the level of competition.

The O-J-H-L now has 27 teams.

Grimsby wins the best of 7; 4-3

 

Wheatley 6 Belle River 5 in overtime

The best of 7 is tied 3-3

Game 7 is tonight at Belle River

The winner of this series will join Alliston, Picton & Grimsby in the semifinals

WOAA Final

The WOAA Senior Hockey Championship Series between the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks & Monkton Wildcats has established a tentative schedule

Game One is scheduled for Friday night at the Plex in Port Elgin at 8:30 pm

Game 2 is Saturday in Listowel.

Advance tickets are available for Friday's game starting Wednesday at
Lakeshore Recreation which is open Monday-Friday beginning at 6:30 a.m

Kevin Beirnes won three Awards: "Regular Season Top Scorer", The Clarence "Cain"  Woods Memorial for "MVP", and The Shallow Lake Minor Hockey Award for "Fan Favourite".

NorthStars Sign 4

The Owen Sound Bluewater ProTeam NorthStars announced the signing of 4 players for the upcoming Junior B Lacrosse season.

Matt Reid, Justin Ainslie, Drew Barfoot and Ryan Linthorne have been signed to cards.

The NorthStars play their season opener April 30th when they host Welland.

OBA Junior Girls Basketball

at Midland & Penetanguishene

The Owen Sound Eastside Sonic went 1 & 2 losing to Huntsville & Newmarket but defeating the host Midland Mystics 38-33

In the win, Maddie Lougheed & Carrie Davenport combined for 27 points

Teena Deenik & Audrey Liskauskis were top scorers for the Sonics in their losses
